The 8th Grade Treble Choir consists of one class this year which will meet during 5th hour. There are 50 students this year and for the first time Mr. Dee & Mr. Wangeman will be team-teaching this class. 8th Grade Choir students meet every day for class. Their performance schedule this year includes a very special trip to Grand Rapids in January for the Michigan Music Conference. They are the only middle school performing at the prestigious choral hour! They will perform a 5-song set as part of a larger concert also involving 2 additional TC West Choirs from West Senior HS (Westmen & Chorale)!
8th Grade Students focus on mastering the fundamentals of music literacy and vocal production emphasizing excellent tone quality while deepening their understanding and application of many other musical elements. They sing a wide variety of choral music genres including songs in foreign languages and English with some opportunities for popular styles too. Most songs are in three or four part harmony. More details about the learning goals and scales for choir can be viewed on the How to SING! page.
